Nice to meet you fellow Spiran! You are visitor # to stop by my Yuna tribute.

Quickly starting this off that this is not and will not be a common tribute. I pondered about this for a long time and decided that I won't be including things that can now be found on Wikipedia or the likes. It is a tribute where I will be talking about my own thoughts and feelings towards Yuna. Final Fantasy X/X-2 is over fifteen years old and most people know of the game. Basic information, battle stats, and galleries are plaster everywhere nowadays. I don't see how you, visitor, can just Google it up real quick. I want this to be personal for me and I hope that I am able to convey how much I admire Yuna to you.

"Tribute? What does it mean?!". Honestly, the internet is so engraved into our daily lives that it is impossible to be new to the internet. But perhaps you are new to the concept of what fan tribute or fan shrine websites are. If you are part of the small community that still exist, you know. But in case you aren't part of the small community, let me take you down memory lane...

Commonly known as shrines, back in the 90s to mid 2000s, shrines were in abundance. The community was MASSIVE! Basically, fans of a tv show or videogame would create a website dedicated to their favorite character. Shrines would be plaster with basic information such as a character's profile or the plot of the series they are from. Many shrines also had a section that would be full of different media such as screencaptures and fanmade graphic pieces.

Super popular characters always had at least 5 to 10 shrines (perhaps more) created for them. Yes yes, Yuna was among one of those popular characters. If I had the guts to create this website back in the mid 2000s (the time I discovered what shrines are), eyes would be rolled, "A Yuna shrine. Again."

Shrine making was competitive. Who has the best shrine? Best designed layout? The most unique or the most informational shrine? There was elitism in the community. It all sounds a bit silly now because this community gets quieter every year due to the rise of popular social media and honestly majority of the community grew out of the hobby. We don't have as much free time to sit and just write for fun anymore like we did when we were younger.

So, there you have it.
As I grow older, I yearn for the days of creating shrines or fanlistings. The personal touches one can bring to their favorite fictional characters... I miss THAT. So here I am. Some ten or fifteen years later, creating a new shrine in 2020.
